Banashi

Your AI. Your characters. Your stories.

Banashi is a native iOS app for writing with AI — characters you bring or build, stories you tell across sessions, and an AI companion you choose yourself. Connect the model and service you prefer, and Banashi handles the interface, the memory, and the moderation. The app performs no inference of its own; the words on your screen come from the provider you chose, using your own account.

Your AI, your choice.

Connect the service that suits you. Banashi works with any provider you bring — the interface is ours, the storyteller is yours.

Your conversations, your device.

Chats live in local storage by default. iCloud sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted. There's no Banashi server collecting what you write.

Built for storytelling.

Banashi is a creative writing tool with a character engine, persistent memory, and an interface designed for the shape of a long conversation. It's not a chatbot grafted onto a notes app.

A word for the shape of a story.

Banashi — 噺 / 話, from Japanese, meaning "tale" or "story." In compound form it gives us mukashi-banashi (old tales), yo-banashi (night tales), koi-banashi (love tales). The name reflects the product: a place for telling stories with an AI collaborator you trust.
