Banashi

A compound word for a compound story.

Choose your AI, your voice, your vision. Banashi is the place they meet.

Banashi is a native iOS app for immersive storytelling with AI — characters you bring or build, stories told across long sessions, and one interface that brings together text, voice, image, and video from the providers you choose. No single AI service does every medium well, or does it the way you want; Banashi lets you pick your favorite for each and layer them into one experience. The app performs no inference of its own. Every word, voice, and frame comes from the provider you chose, using your own account.

Compose your stack.

No single service is best at every medium — text, voice, image, video. Banashi lets you pick your favorite for each and layer them into one experience. Your models, your voice, your vision, in the same room.

Your conversations, your device.

Chats live in local storage by default. iCloud sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted. There's no Banashi server collecting what you write.

Built for storytelling.

A character engine compatible with the V2 card standard, persistent memory that survives across sessions, and an interface designed for the shape of a long conversation. Not a chatbot grafted onto a notes app.

A word that never stands alone.

Banashi never stands alone in Japanese. It's the voiced form of hanashi — the shape the word takes only when it's attached to something else. Mukashi-banashi, yo-banashi, koi-banashi: old tales, night tales, love tales. Each is a story that exists because of the word before it. Banashi works the same way.
